TGCA and Cletus Klein at the 2008 NRA Convention
in Louisville, Kentucky

Mr. Cletus Klein, TGCA Life Member No.38, graciously represented the Texas Gun Collectors Association with his splendid exhibit, Muzzle Loading Target Rifles, at the recent National Rifle Association's convention held in Louisville Kentucky.

This exhibit comprised over thirty muzzle loaders and their associated accoutrements and accessories, and no less than five were in cased sets.

The display won the Most Educational award, having been pipped at the post for Best of Show by the two Thompsons (now in the possession of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department in St. Joseph, Michigan) that played such a large part in the infamous St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1929.

In addition, a cased Morgan James rifle from the display won an individual silver medal.  This gun has an in-line striker and three sets of sights.
