A
GATHERING OF PATERSONS
Last Fall, when the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets advised TGCA that it
would display a significant number of Colt's Paterson firearms from the
renowned Carl Metzger collection at the Spring 2008 show, the seed of an
idea for a spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime exhibit was sown. Over
the last weekend of April 2008, that seed produced the most amazing
blossom, and some forty Paterson pieces, along with their accoutrements
and accessories, were exhibited under the banner, "A Gathering of
Patersons",
offering the visitor a once in a lifetime
opportunity to view an exhibit displaying one example of every known type
of Paterson made in the period 1837 - 1841.
Below is a list of the guns and some tools and accoutrements featured in
the exhibit. Click on the links for the pictures.
