Manufactured in a two year period (1837 - 1838) with some modifications in the period 1841 - 1842, these were the first of the Paterson factory Colts, easily distinguished from all other Colts by its folding trigger which remains hidden until the hammer is cocked.  The top flat of the barrel has the rolled script one-line address: ― Patent Arms Mg Co. Paterson NJ Colt's Pt ―
